A Cayuga County man faces 13 years in prison for attacking another with a machete.

The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office has announced Christopher Laframboise of Weedsport has pled guilty to attempted murder and assault for attacking a victim with a machete on February 6, 2023, in the Town of Victory, aiming for the victim’s neck. He was arrested shortly later during a traffic stop in the Town of Conquest.

The victim suffered a large laceration and a fractured jaw as a result.

Laframboise had previously rejected a plea deal that would have seen him serve 15 years in prison followed by five years post-release supervision.

He is scheduled for sentencing in November. Aside from the possibility of 13 years in prison, Laframboise also faces a five-year post-release supervision sentence.
