Romulus School Board Election Cancelled as Candidate Concedes

Romulus Central School District. (Nate Hand, Finger Lakes News Radio)

There will not be a run-off election for a seat on the Romulus School Board of Education.

The special election planned for Tuesday was canceled after one of the candidates, Alicia Rath, conceded to Caroline Hamelin and removed her name from the ballot. The Board accepted the withdrawal and noted Hamelin will be sworn into a three-year term on July 9th.

Hamelin and Rath each received 76 votes in last month’s election.
