There was no agreed-upon resolution last night following a more than two-hour discussion by the Ontario County Board of Supervisors on migrants and asylum seekers possibly coming into the region.
The conversation mainly focused on what some neighboring counties have done to stop the influx of migrants from New York City by prohibiting municipal programs, hotels, motels, and short-term rentals from entering into contracts to house the illegals or facing steep fines.
So far, Ontario County has taken no local action but has requested the state and New York City provide more information to New York counties on the situation.
