- FLCC entered the national BioMade BUILD contest, launched by the US Defense Department to come up with new food sources in the wake of COVID supply chain disruptions and was awarded $100.000 to take part, the only community college so honored.
- FLCC will work with Empire Medicinals and the National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center to develop a low cost, high nutrition food additive from mushroom mycelia.
- FLCC is currently testing the process to confirm that it’s commercially viable.
