  • Farmers Markets are coming to a close. It’s your last chance to use FMNP and WIC cards to save money. It’s a good time to stock up on items that will keep or can be preserved over the winter.
  • CCE will hold Pumpkin Days on the last day of the Seneca Falls Farmers Market October 1 and the Waterloo Farmers Market October 5.
  • CCE is holding back to school open houses with recipes and nutrition information.
  • The Farm to School gardens are being harvested and students are getting Farm to School and Dairy in the Classroom education.
  • The NY Harvest of the Month is apples.
  • Ontario County Fun on the Farm is September 27 for students and the 28th for the public at Hemdale Farms in Seneca Castle.
  • There will be a Farm to School training for school food service workers October 11 at NY Kitchen in Canandaigua.
  • NY is #1 in the country in beet production.
