A Holley man is in custody after allegedly making a bomb threat at the Orleans County Mental Health building in Albion, prompting an evacuation and emergency response.

According to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the building just before noon on Monday after receiving reports that Daniel Morehead was wearing a vest strapped to his body and claiming to have a bomb.

Deputies ordered Morehead to remove the vest and lie on the ground. A drone unit deployed at the scene assessed the situation and determined that Morehead posed a credible threat.

Authorities later discovered that Morehead was carrying WD-40, batteries, wires, and other suspicious materials, though no explosive device was found.

Morehead was taken into custody and now faces multiple charges, including making a terrorist threat. The building was evacuated as a precaution, but no injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
