Southern Tier Man Faces Nine Felonies for Having Illegal Firearms

A Southern Tier man is facing nine felony charges after authorities executed a search warrant at his home.

24-year-old Chase Hartke is accused of possessing a number of illegal firearms and high-capacity ammunition magazines at his Chemung County home. State Police report they found illegal rifles, a tactical shotgun, 3-D printed ghost gun parts, numerous high-capacity ammunition magazines, and ammunition in an assortment of calibers.

The Southport man is jailed on nine felony charges of criminal possession of a weapon.

The New York State Police – Troop E Violent Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team were assisted by members of Troop E Uniform Force, the Elmira Police Department Drug Enforcement unit, and the Elmira Police Department Gun involved Violence Elimination detail.
