Pilot Suffers Minor Injuries After Plane Flips in Erie County

(Provided)

Only minor injuries were reported after a single-engine plane flipped over in Erie County.

State Troopers say the incident happened Wednesday at the Clarence Aerodrome Airport in the Town of Amherst, a suburb of Buffalo. An investigation determined the pilot was attempting to take off when the plane’s front tire sank in mud causing it to flip.

Troopers and emergency crews assisted in getting the 82-year-old aviator out of the aircraft. He was taken to Eire County Medical Center for minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
