A new online tool from New York State has launched to help families access childcare.

Governor Hochul announced the screening tool will determine parents’ eligibility for financial support from the Child Care Assistance Program.

Families can complete a questionnaire available in 12 languages which will let them immediately know whether they meet eligibility requirements and then direct them to local social services to apply for funding.

During her State of the State address in January, Governor Hochul announced the pre-screening tool when calling for streamlining the childcare application process.

The new online tool can be accessed through the Office of Children and Family Services’ website.
