New York Public Schools Closed Wednesday

There will be no school for kids statewide on Wednesday because of the Asian Lunar New Year.

Back in 2023, Governor Hochul signed a bill to declare Asian Lunar New Year a public school holiday across the state. At the time, Hochul said by granting Lunar New Year an official school holiday, “New York was taking an important step in recognizing the importance of New York’s Asian American and Pacific Islander community and the rich diversity that makes New York so great”
