A Puerto Rican man has pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine after a traffic stop in Seneca County.

According to US Attorney Trini Ross, last August, 30-year old Michael Almonte Diaz and another individual were transporting roughly 504 grams of cocaine from Rochester when a traffic stop conducted by state police on Interstate 90, near Exit 41 in Seneca County, found the drugs concealed in a birthday gift package along with $18,511 dollars in cash.

Diaz faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $1-million fine when he’s sentenced in August.
