Governor’s Approval Numbers Bump Up Slightly

Governor Kathy Hochul has seen a bump in her favorability and job approval ratings from October, but both remain “stubbornly underwater.” That’s according to the results of a new Siena College poll released Tuesday.

The poll finds that Hochul has a 39% favorability rating among likely voters in New York, which is up from 36% in October; however, 49% still view her unfavorably. The same poll shows Hochul with a 46% job approval rating, which is up from 41%.

Meanwhile, 43% of voters said Albany’s top priority in 2025 should be the cost of living, followed by affordable housing and the recent influx of migrants, both at 19%.

The poll was conducted December 2-5 among 834 New York State registered voters and has a margin of error of +/-4.1%.
