Elmira Attempted Murder Suspect Accused of Assaulting COs

An Elmira man arrested for his alleged involvement in a drive-by scooter shooting that happened in Chemung County last November is facing new felony charges after he allegedly assaulted two Corrections Officers.

The alleged incident involving Reginald McBride occurred at the Chemung County Jail on June 12th. An investigation determined the 26-year-old who was indicted on an attempted murder charge in connection with the scooter shooting injured both corrections officers after the alleged assault.

McBride is also accused of fighting multiple Corrections Officers after the initial incident.

In connection with this incident, McBride was charged with two felony counts of assault of a peace officer.
