Sex Offender Arrested on Yates County Supreme Court Warrant

An inmate at the Chemung County Jail was arrested Tuesday on a Yates County Supreme Court warrant.

The arrest of 23-year-old James Farmer, Junior, was the result of a sealed grand jury indictment. Farmer, a Level Three sex offender, was charged with two counts of failing to provide a photo as required by the state.

Farmer was convicted in 2019 of rape by forcible compulsion for incidents that occurred in 2015 in the city of Elmira.
