On Tuesday, Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Penn Yan man for allegedly violating an order of protection for the second time in several days.
Christopher Castle, 32, was taken into custody after Yates County Correctional Officers discovered he had continued to contact a protected party via video call from the jail. This incident follows a nearly identical arrest involving Castle that occurred just days earlier.
Deputies conducted a follow-up investigation and confirmed the unauthorized communication. Castle was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer the charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
