State Police are continuing to investigate a homicide followed by an apparent suicide that took place in Steuben County on Friday.

Troopers responded to a reported shooting at a home on Academy Street in the village of Addison following a domestic-related incident. A preliminary investigation revealed that 45-year-old Ryan Chase, of Addison, arrived at the home and became involved in a dispute with 43-year-old Angelina Barney-Chase, and 41-year-old Tomas Venegas. Ryan Chase reportedly left the home and returned a short time later, at which point he allegedly shot and killed Venegas. The suspect fled the scene in a car, which later crashed near Wall Street. Troopers located Chase dead in a nearby wooded area from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Angelina Barney-Chase was not injured in the incident.

Autopsies will be conducted to confirm the causes of death.
