A two-car accident at a business in the village of Penn Yan resulted in the felony arrest of a Penn Yan man.
Witnesses reported to police the car that caused the accident and officers were able to identify Shawn Madigan as the driver. After locating Madigan, police say he displayed several indicators of impairment and he was administered standardized field sobriety tests, which he reportedly failed. Shawn was placed under arrest and transported to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital, where he voluntarily submitted to a blood draw. A DMV check revealed Madigan had a previous conviction of DWI within the previous ten years, making this DWI arrest a felony.
Further charges are pending the blood results, according to police.
