A youthful offender was arrested by Penn Yan Police following a fight that happened in the village.
The unidentified adolescent is accused of punching a male victim in the face breaking one of the male’s teeth. The adolescent is accused of then wrapping his arm around the victim’s head, covering their mouth and nose, preventing them from breathing freely.
The adolescent was charged with assault and criminal obstruction of breathing. They were issued an appearance ticket to appear in Yates County Probation and was released to a family member
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
