Suspected Overdoses Continue to Decline in Cayuga County

Suspected overdoses continue to decline in Cayuga County.

According to data released by the county, eight overdoses were reported in September, none of which were fatal. 12.5% of the suspected overdoses are believed to have involved opioids. 62.5% occurred in Auburn.

Last month saw 11 suspected overdoses and September 2023 saw 15 overdoses, including one fatality.

So far in 2024, Cayuga County has seen 110 suspected overdoses reported, five of which were fatal, compared to the 128 overdoses reported during the same time period last year.
