A joint investigation by the Steuben and Livingston County Sheriff’s Departments into a reported rape that happened in September has led to the arrest of a Dansville man.

It is alleged that Jamie Wolfanger and others caused injury to another person, forcibly stole property worth more than $1,000 from the victim, and displayed a firearm. Wolfanger was charged with assault, gang assault, robbery, criminal use of a firearm, grand larceny, and conspiracy, all felonies.

The 40-year-old was sent to Steuben County Jail without bail following his arraignment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
