The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Sodus woman following an investigation into a domestic incident spanning multiple towns.

Deputies say 29-year-old Ashley Butler was arrested on four counts of criminal contempt in the second degree and one count of tampering with a witness in the fourth degree.

Investigators allege Butler violated a full stay-away order of protection at separate times in the towns of Sodus, Lyons, and Savannah. Deputies say she had both physical and verbal contact with the protected party and also attempted to influence that person’s testimony.

Butler was taken into custody, processed at the Wayne County Jail, and held for CAP Court.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
