Sodus Man Accused of Pocketing $11K in Illegal SNAP Benefits

A joint investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Social Services revealed that one resident received more than $11,000 in SNAP benefits he was not entitled to.

Chad Glerum is accused of not reporting household income he was receiving while signed up for SNAP.  Investigators say Glerum collected $11,404.00 worth of SNAP benefits he was not entitled to.

The 52-year-old was charged with grand larceny, welfare fraud, and three counts of offering a false instrument for filing.
