Skaneateles Woman Accused of Taking Relative’s Car Without Permission

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Skaneateles woman on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Just before 11 p.m. Saturday, police received a report of a motor vehicle theft that had occurred at a residence in Cato. An investigation determined Ginger Gilday to have gone to a relative’s home and allegedly taken a car while not having permission to do so. While investigating the theft, deputies were also advised that the car driven by Gilday had been involved in an accident in Onondaga County. The 29-year-old was arrested in Onondaga County for undisclosed offenses related to the accident and was released.

Gilday was arrested on Sunday by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office for taking the car without permission. She was released on an appearance ticket for Cato Town Court.
