Law enforcement say alcohol was involved in a crash last month in Cato.

According to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck, deputies responded to the area of Emerson Road near Cato Conquest Town Line Road at around 2:15 on the afternoon of February 26 for the reported accident. They learned that a car had failed to navigate the road’s sharp curve and exited the road off an embankment before crashing into a field.

The vehicle’s driver, Latrelle McKinney, was not injured in the crash.

Deputies suspected the Liverpool woman was intoxicated and took her to the public safety building for processing.  A chemical breath test found that she had a BAC of 0.14%.

McKinney was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and other traffic violations. She was released on tickets to appear at Cato Town Court on March 3.
