A registered sex offender from Cayuga County faces new charges after police say he allegedly contacted two underage teens electronically and made requests they send nude photos to him.
In May, authorities in Florida contacted the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department after Kevin VanNorstrand had been communicating with an undercover agent posing as a 14-year-old. That investigation led to police discovering VanNorstrand was also talking with someone he thought was a 13-year-old and made sexual requests.
Multiple search warrants were executed at VanNorstrand’s Conquest home on Friday and he was charged with two felony counts of attempted dissemination of indecent material to a minor.
