A two-month-long investigation into a stolen vehicle in Steuben County has resulted in the arrest of a Schuyler County man.
27-year-old Nicholas Ingersoll is accused of stealing a car, crashing it, and then giving police a false statement. The Beaver Dams man was already an inmate in the Steuben County Jail on an unrelated crime when he was arrested for this incident. He is charged with criminal mischief, making a false written statement, and felony grand larceny.
Ingersoll was sent back to county jail.
