A Rushville man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly displayed a handgun in a menacing manner toward another person.

The incident occurred at a residence in Potter and was part of an alleged domestic incident. Police say their investigation determined 45-year-old Wesley Cole Junior’s actions not only happened in front of a child under 17 but placed the victims in imminent fear of serious physical injury.

Cole was charged with more than a half dozen counts of criminal possession of a weapon, as well as single counts of criminal use of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, menacing, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal contempt.

Cole was being held at the Yates County Jail for arraignment.
