Romulus Man Accused of Illegally Receiving DSS Benefits

A 74-year-old Seneca County man has been arrested by the Sheriff’s Office for allegedly receiving benefits from the county he was not entitled to.

Thomas Weaver, of Romulus, is accused of failing to report his total household income to the county’s Department of Social Services. Weaver was charged with misuse of food stamps, welfare fraud and offering a false instrument for filing.

Weaver will appear in Waterloo Town Court next month to answer the charges.
