A Rochester resident was taken into custody on Friday, following a shoplifting incident at Target in the Town of Victor.

46-year-old Chancye White is accused of leaving the store without paying for about $58.56 worth of merchandise.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports White is scheduled to appear in Town of Victor Court at a later date to answer the charge.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
