A Rochester man is facing multiple charges after Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person early Saturday morning at the Candlewood Apartments in Canandaigua.

At approximately 5:59 a.m. on June 28, deputies arrested Matthew Belk on several charges, including three counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree, and various traffic violations.

The arrest followed an investigation that determined Belk was in possession of a stolen Ram 1500 van, two stolen credit cards, and a white, rock-like substance believed to be cocaine.

Belk was taken to the Ontario County Jail, where he was processed. He is scheduled to appear in CAP Court at a later date to answer the charges.
