The investigation into a larceny complaint resulted in the arrest of an 18-year-old Port Byron woman.

On June 5th, Cayuga County Sheriff’s Deputies had been investigating a larceny complaint involving a man at a different location. The investigation showed that the male suspect from that investigation resided with Jayla Dwyer. Dwyer was allegedly found to have the stolen items from a business on Route 31 in the town of Mentz and attempted to sell the stolen items online.

Dwyer was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and was released on an appearance ticket for Port Byron Village Court.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
