The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Town of Clyde man following a single-car crash on Pilgrimport Road in the Town of Lyons.

Matthew Grafton, 31, of Clyde, was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, .18% or greater, Driving While Intoxicated, and Moved from Lane Unsafely.

Deputies say Grafton, the sole occupant, swerved to avoid a deer and ended up in a ditch. An investigation determined he was driving under the influence at the time. Grafton submitted to a breath test at the sheriff’s office, which showed a blood-alcohol content of .20%.

He was processed at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and taken to the jail for prints and photos before being released to a third party. Grafton is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
