Penn Yan Police arrested a village resident on a parole violation.
Police say 38-year-old Carrie Schultz was taken into custody after officers were contacted by New York State Parole to assist with a warrant.
Schultz was located on Benham Street and arrested without incident. She was transported to the Yates County Jail, where she is being held pending arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
