A two-car hit-and-run accident Wednesday afternoon in Yates County led to the arrest of a 58-year-old Penn Yan man.
Shortly after the three o’clock accident, sheriff’s deputies located a vehicle matching the one that took off and conducted a traffic stop on Belknap Hill Road in the town of Jerusalem. After a series of field sobriety tests, 58-year-old Paul Thompson was taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital for a chemical test.
Thompson was charged with drunken driving, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and failure to keep right.
No injuries were reported.
