The investigation into an alleged theft at the Hopewell Walmart resulted in the arrest of a Penn Yan man.
Gerard Shiver, Junior is accused of placing $98.02 worth of merchandise inside of a shopping cart, passing all points of sale and attempting to leave the store. Shiver was placed under arrest without incident by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office on a petit larceny charge.
Shiver was released on an appearance ticket for Hopewell Town Court.
