Penn Yan Man Accused of Burglarizing Village Store

An investigation into a burglary complaint in the village of Penn Yan resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old Penn Yan man.

Brendan Hawley is accused of entering an undisclosed business just before one o’clock on the morning of January 12th and going behind the sales counter in an attempt to steal property. Hawley then fled on foot from the store. He later turned himself in to the police and was charged with burglary and attempted petit larceny.

Hawley was sent to Yates County Jail to await arraignment.
