An inmate at the Ontario County Jail has been arrested on an aggravated family offense charge following an investigation into events that transpired last Friday in Pod 5 at the Ontario County Jail.

Russell Carlson was issued a stay-away order of protection from the Ontario County Court on May 10th where he was directed to have no contact, either direct or indirect, with the protected party except for a limited purpose of discussing the disposition of assets. The 45-year-old Canandaigua man is accused of interacting with the victim outside the scope of the order of protection limitations, resulting in a charge of criminal contempt.

Because Carlson was previously convicted of criminal contempt in July of 2021, the charge against him was upgraded to aggravated family offense.
