Newark Man Arrested on Warrant After Brief Pursuit

A Newark man was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office on a bench warrant.

Deputies observed Roderick Lampley walking on East Union Street in the village of Newark and knew he had an active Bench Warrant out of Lyons Town Court for obstructing governmental administration and trespass. When deputies attempted to take Lampley into custody, he took off running. Following a brief foot chase, Lampley was taken into custody and was additionally charged with obstructing governmental administration.

Lampley was released on an appearance ticket for Newark Village Court.
