The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office says a Moravia man was arrested after deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Town of Ira.

Deputies were called to a home on Route 176 around 2:20 p.m. on October 8, where they found a white car parked in front of a driveway and a man sitting on the lawn. The man, identified as 42-year-old Ryan Mikal, was determined to have been driving while intoxicated.

Mikal was taken into custody, processed at the Public Safety Building, and charged with DWI and several traffic violations. His blood alcohol results are pending.

He was released with appearance tickets and is due in Ira Town Court on October 27.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
