A 38-year-old Rochester man was taken into custody Saturday in connection with a shoplifting case stemming from an incident last year in the Town of Victor.
According to authorities, Jose Alexis Gonzales Martinez was arrested around 12:12 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Ontario County Jail on a charge of petit larceny.
Investigators said the charge stems from a reported theft at Target in Victor on Dec. 20, 2025.
Martinez is currently being held at the county jail on unrelated theft charges. He is scheduled to appear in CAP court at a later date to answer the petit larceny charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
