A woman was shot in the face in Steuben County Wednesday night.
State Police say it happened at a home on Wagner Hill Road in the town of Avoca. A preliminary investigation determined that 50-year-old Terry Long, Junior, allegedly shot the 47-year-old victim while inside the residence. The woman is currently listed in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Long was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies and was brought to the Steuben County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
