Man Arrested for Refusing to Cut Flowers Pleas Guilty to Reduced Charge

The Auburn man who wouldn’t cut his wildflowers has pled guilty after having his obstruction charges reduced to a city code violation.

According to The Citizen, James Udall was granted an unconditional discharge with no fine imposed, Thursday, after the District Attorney’s Office reduced the original charge of Obstruction of Governmental Administration.

Udall was arrested back in August of 2022. after trying to stop city employees from cutting down the flowers on city land in front of his house, reaching as high as six feet and blocking visibility from the street.
