A Lyons man was arrested Monday following an investigation into a domestic incident that happened in the village of Clyde.

The charges against Richie Stokes, Junior, stem from a domestic incident where he allegedly entered his old residence where the victim lives. Stokes was asked to leave multiple times and refused. He then allegedly started disassembling furniture and pushed the victim out of the way when she blocked him from doing so. During the altercations, Stokes allegedly climbed on top of the victim and began choking her with both hands while she was laying on the ground.

Stokes was charged with harassment and criminal obstruction of breathing. He was brought to the Wayne County Jail  and was released following his arraignment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
