It took about 30 minutes of deliberations for a Schuyler County jury to convict a Montour Falls woman on felony drug charges.

According to the Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office, the case against April Ball came about as a result of an unannounced home visit conducted by the Schuyler County Probation Department at her North Catherine Street home. A search of her apartment turned up over two ounces of methamphetamine, as well as drug paraphernalia, including smoking devices, plastic baggies, butane torches, and over $300 in cash.

After a four-day trial, Ball was found guilty Thursday of a felony charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The 46-year-old faces three-to-10 years in state prison, plus five years post-release supervision when sentenced in April.
