Surveillance Footage Leads to Ithaca Man’s Arrest in Restaurant Break-in

Surveillance footage of a man breaking into a Tompkins County restaurant over the weekend helped lead to the arrest of an Ithaca man.

James Kastenhuber is accused of breaking into a Pine Tree Road restaurant on February 11th and stealing cash from the register. Employees of the restaurant noticed the establishment had been burglarized once they arrived at work. A search of restaurant surveillance showed a white man, later determined to be Kastenhuber, breaking into the restaurant through the back door. Kastenhuber is also accused of attempting to break into a nearby car wash.

The 32-year-old was jailed on charges of burglary, attempted burglary, and criminal possession of burglary tools.
