Police have recovered a car that was recently stolen from a dealer in the city of Ithaca and arrested the person found driving it.
As officers conducted a traffic stop at around 2:30 Thursday morning, they determined the car was stolen. The driver, 32-year-old Amanda Linderberry, who initially gave officers a fake name, allegedly had a bench warrant out of Tompkins County Court for an attempted burglary charge. Police say they also found her to be in possession of a small amount of suspected methamphetamine.
Linderberry was jailed on charges of felony grand larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and false impersonation, all misdemeanors.
