On Saturday, members of the Ithaca Police Department stopped a suspicious person in the 800 block of West Buffalo Street. The individual, identified as James Wilson, was interviewed by officers and allegedly confessed to an open case involving a theft from a vehicle.
During the investigation, Wilson was found to have property that did not belong to him. Shortly after the initial contact, at approximately 3:19 A.M., police received a formal report of a theft from a vehicle. The stolen property reported in that incident matched the items Wilson had in his possession at the time of his earlier stop.
Wilson was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, and Criminal Possession of Burglar Tools, all of which are Class A Misdemeanors.
