Seneca County Sheriff Timothy Thompson reports that on Wednesday investigators arrested 45-year-old Carrie Spratley of Fayette.

Spratley was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and misuse of food stamps. Authorities say the charges stem from an investigation alleging she failed to properly report her income to the Seneca County Department of Human Services.

She was processed and released on an appearance ticket.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
