A 38-year-old Elmira man has been sentenced to stealing a wallet and using a stolen credit card in Schuyler County.

Scott Chimileski pleaded guilty in Schuyler County Court to fourth-degree grand larceny, a Class E felony, back in December. He was sentenced on Thursday to five years of probation.

According to authorities, the charge stems from a November 11, 2024, incident at the Dandy Mini Mart in Odessa. Investigators say Chimileski stole another person’s wallet containing a credit card and later used the card to make purchases.

The case was investigated by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department and prosecuted by Schuyler County District Attorney Jeremy Hourihan.
