An Elmira man was arrested by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop.
21-year-old Jacob Carpenter was charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, and Vehicle and Traffic Law violations after fleeing the stop on State Route 14 in the town of Montour.
Following his arrest, Carpenter was released on appearance tickets for Montour Town Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
